I like the idea to call it “ The vocabulary of new Italian fashion”, for the first time in Milan an exhibition, new in its own kind, created with the ambition to give the right importance to those who “do” fashion in the contemporary Italy, a setting for those creative people who, in the last 20 years, renovated and recreated the cultural, technical and technological DNA of our tradition, giving it a new and original language.

An exhibition enhancing optimism and celebration of the Italian creative network made by young talents who show their work though various artistic expressions: from ready to wear to street wear, from shoes to eye glasses, from jewelry to hats, in a nut shell a new way to define the fashion vocabulary starting from the great masters to talk about those who represent future.

Happy and touched designers, a lot of joy and the wish to keep up with their vision: here is the magical atmosphere of last evening in Triennale for the opening reception.

The starting point is 1998, the exhibition is an accurate setting of that recent moment in time of Made in Italy, a moment that sets the concrete shift to interconnected web world to new ways of communication: ten years before the great global crisis of 2008 that shocked western economies and destabilised the economical, social and cultural paradigms of post modernity. 1998 states the moment between “before” and “after” and enhances those who made it through the crisis and started in an autonomous way.

The exhibition shows one hundred realities among the most important in the contemporary arena: designers and brands selected with a scholar and scientific approach made true by the curators: Paola Bertola e Vittorio Linfante together with the scientific committee (run by Eleonora Fiorani and made up by Silvana Annicchiarico, Gianluca Bauzano, Patrizia Calefato, Enrica Morini, Domenico Quaranta e Salvo Testa), supported by a group of advisors, experts in the fashion world (journalists, designers, producers, distributors..).

A great showcase for these young talents who, in the last years, worked, suffered, created to define their own identity thanks to brave stylistic choices and the wish to renovate, surprise often by using alternative materials and techniques.
