Elsa Peretti’s Bone Cuff Revival

Elsa Peretti turned 80 years old on may 1st! Happy belated birthday!
Since ever my admiration goes to one of the pioneers of modern jewerly design; a woman who developed the most contemporary aesthetic and rearranged the rules of the luxury jewelry!

Her best known masteripiece is the Bone Cuff, first created for Tiffany & Co. in the early 70s; an icon that marked the beginning of a jewelry revolution, due to its shape and choice of material: no flourishes, no stones, just pure organically sculpted silver.

Such an iconic piece was inspired by Peretti’s visits as a young girl, to Barcelona, in particular, near Antonio Gaudí’s Casa Mila but also to the crypt of an ancient church in Rome, her adoptive town.

Liza Minnelli, Angelina Jolie, Sofia Loren, Margot Robbie and many more celebrities loved the bold resiliance and the ergonomic sensuality of this piece.

That’s why, to mark and celebrate her 80th birthday, Elsa Peretti has created a special Edition Bone Cuffs for Tiffany & Co in copper playing with electric colors of green, red and blue.

The Bone Cuff has always been avantgarde of contemporary womanhood, its empowering aesthetic embodies the modern independent woman.

“Style is to be simple”
