Messika, finally in Italy to celebrate the first ten years of her brand

Valérie Messika, daughter of a famous diamond merchant, decided to launch her own brand in 2005.

She did it with an intuition, the one to reach out for a  generation of women tired of fashion

slavery, with a well defined taste, who looks into jewellery for their individuality, marked by the usage, sometimes a bit naughty, of diamond and precious.

And it is thanks to this reaction to the ‘90’s minimalism, to the opulence of the new millennium that Messika collection makes her way because it interprets the new taste and plays with tradition rules in non conventional ways hence strongly related to everyday life.

For Valérie, born and brought up in the diamond world , this precious stone embodies on one hand the rules of conventions and formalism, hence it can become the ultimate vehicle towards transgression thanks to unconventional cutting and faceting.

Valérie loves triangle cut diamond and she uses it for the Maya necklace; she adores Calder sculptures and she creates the multiform earring of Glam’Azone collection; she celebrates movement and lets the diamonds “run” on gold surfaces for the “Move” collection…

Her style is intuitive, always in balance with design expression and the celebration of beauty and the diamond perfection.

At Basel show, I had the chance to view the unique pieces collection and in Milan I got introduced to the collection that is going to be sold very soon in Italy.
