In our work, approaching a new collection always brings the difficult question on how to evolve the strong stylistic elements that are related to the brand identity.
For Chantecler, Campanelle are since ever the iconic element of their collections.
The Campanelle are inspired by the legend of Saint Michael who helped a young boy desperate to have lost his sheep by giving him a wish granting bell. With every jingle, a wish came true so thanks to this sweet sound of the bell, the young shepherd found his lost sheep. Fascinated by the legend, Pietro Capuano and Salvatore Aprea (Chantecler founders) forged a bronze bell to give it as a symbol of peace to Franklin Delano Roosevelt the United States President at the time.
Since then, 70 years have gone by and the first jewelry campanella was given to Edda Ciano. The collection today has grown larger season-by-season, developing into various declinations where gold smithing fuses with fine jewelry making into the production of wonderful miniature works of art.
For Basel World, Chantecler introduces a Capsule Collection designed at four hands with the artist Max Goshko- Dankov.
The artist lives between Moscow, Milan and Paris.
He has centred his art on a self-reflection through signature decorative elements; he leads his artwork through different cultures and customs.
His style can be recognized by the strength of the colours, whimsical patterns and the power of visual expression.
For Chantecler he has brought such a passion into three distinctive visual elements:
Fish story, the fish, a symbol of eternity
Eye story, the eye, as a symbol of protection
Underwater, Grotto stories – the blue grotto one of the iconic elements of Capri where the whole Chantecler story started and evolves.
If you are in Basel go and discover this new capsule and admire the whole Chantecler collections.
