Last week I visited Super at City Life Palace in Pza VI febbraio Milan. This fair, that is at its third edition, was born from a project between Pitti Immagine and Milano Fair with a cooperation with Milan Town Hall.

The overall idea comes from the wish to create a special event devoted to accessories and topret-à-porter, emphasizing the innovation in terms of product, the new ways to interpret accessories, combining under the same roof well known brands as well as new comers while enhancing new fashion Italian designers hosting at the same time international talents. From the reports published lately, the fair feedback has been positive. Here are some quotes taken from Super press release:

“With a total of 6.000 registered buyers, the Fair has reached an increase of 18% compared to last winter edition. The increase of Asian  buyers has been one of the most significant trends – mainly from Japan, China, South Corea and Hong Kong; among European buyer we outline the presence of English, Swiss, Dutch, Spanish Greek buyers, and the strong presence of Russian and Turkish operators. Last but not least, the Italian market is growing again, a good and positive signal for our economy”.

Well, if this is the general scenario, it seems there is a slight recovery of our jewelry world with an interest coming from abroad and why not a nice optimism regarding the figures realated to Italy.

Ihave to admit that from my point of view of careful observer of the overall jewelry and accessories market , it is a bit difficult to identify outstanding brands with a new vison in terms of creativity and product offering. All proposals seem to me quite “déjàvu” and few companies were able to “surprise“ me in terms of innovation and creative inputs.

It is therefore with pleasure that I put the accent on one brand that has some how interested my “tired” eye and have surprised me for the enthusiasm and freshness of their proposals.
