One of the main news at VicenzaOro ? The presence for the first time of Tous, the Spanish brand known at international level for the strong retail presence but above all for the sweet and nice bear that characterises the logo and is one of the main stylistic elements for all collections.

Karine Janson, wholesale director, welcomed me at the stand in a warm and friendly way. She told me all about the company history and explained me the new projects with the enthusiasm and dynamism of the one that lives the company positively and feels part of the global process. So Tous will finally arrive in Italy with an ambitious plan.

Tous concept is winning in a specific time when in Italy, retail is suffering. The Spanish company has an assortment of products ranging from silver and gold jewelry to handbags, sunglasses, watches, perfumes…in a nut shell all that belongs to this idea of “furniture for the body” so much in the news in the latest years.

Tous2But first of all, Tous is a great business model: a family, Mr and Mrs Tous and their four daughters, 400 employees, the headquarter in Manresa, a small town in the mountains close to Barcelona, a modern structure, a kinder-garden for employees’ children. A family that owns the business and follows very close each step of development dealing with all the issues, 40 collections per year, special pieces for international customers or for the specific consumers, a customer-service ready to answer in 24 hours, what to say? They have what it takes to be successful on the Italian market.

Today Tous has 420 franchising shops worldwide, 400 milion euro turnover, 100 milion come only from perfumes – ten different fragrances for every woman personality- and then the handbags that alone represent 40% of sell through at retail.

If you think that the small bear, the brand icon, was born in 1980 from an idea of Mrs Rosa Tous and today celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez or Kelly Minogue and others wear it with pride and joy, we can really say that the company knows women’s desires and is always able to create the buzz. At the stand, I had the opportunity to meet Mrs Rosa Tous in person, charming and elegant lady who, listening to my compliments, addressed herself to Karine and said: “a big contribution comes from her for all the work she did”….. this is for me creating a bond with your employees and make them feel part of the company, motivating them. So, we just have to wait for the new Tous openings in Italy, stay tuned…
