Mai Tai by A-Latere, chest or sculpture? How to interpret in a modern way the bar

Their names are Claudia Campone e Martina Stancati, the young designers who, during Designweek in Milan, presented their own interpretation of the bar chest; Mai Tai.

A “new “vision, for their actual background, “innovative” for the market, and above all

“collateral thinking” as they like to define their new common project : A-Latere.

With the introduction of Mai Tai, the diamond edge of a range of furniture items designed for

everyday life, Claudia and Martina address a public who is not at all interested in external

night life but to a consumer who is looking for a cosy atmosphere related to tasting, to the get

together tradition and why not to the story telling around a chest, like the bar, in someways a

container of memories and chats to share.

The Mai Tai piece, manufactured and distributed by Black Tie, has its own allure, for its chromatic choice hence for its shape and ‘50’s inspiration. A design object that nicely lays in a modern as well as classical setting.

During the Design Week Mai Tai was “hosted “ by Black Tie, the Vicenza based furniture

company, in their Brera District showroom.

Campari, the historical Italian company sponsored the Press Presentation.

Chatting with Claudia during the event, I discovered that the two designers are already working

on a new project, keep tuned to shortly know what it will be about…..
