Great awards for Head Geneva students on Tuesday night at Flux Laboratory. Third year undergraduates distinguished themselves in two design workshops focusing on fine jewelry and watches, supported by Piaget.
It is the second edition of Piaget Prize, conceived and organized by the famous Maison, to highlight new talents studying at Head Geneva. An initiative that emphasizes Piaget attention to young generations and their engagement to create a strong link between the school reality and the professional world.
An emotional evening and an exceptional parterre last Tuesday at Flux Laboratory. The ceremony was attended by Philippe Léopold-Metzger, Piaget General Director, Charles Chaussepied, Piaget President of the Young Talents Jury, Elizabeth Fischer, Director of Jewelry Department at Head Geneva and Ying Gao, Director of Fashion and Jewelry Department at Head Geneva and, of course Cynthia Odier, artistic Director of Flux Laboratory in Carouge.
A lot of excitement and suspence among the third year students who worked with great engagement and creativity for the fine jewelry workshop that I supervised together with Stéphanie Sivrière, Director of Creation Studio at Piaget and the watch workshop guided by Marco Borraccino, watch design professeur at Head and by Franck Touzeau, Marketing Director for watch department at Piaget.
The choice of the best designers was difficult; all students showed great creative strenght and a capability to put on paper their ideas, creative yes but with a strong link to Piaget DNA, designing exclusive jewelry for the “red carpet”, ludic jewelry -studying new mechanism of utilisation and versatility, new proposals for women’s watch and above all a watch for the contemporary and modern man.

Garance Brandely wins a stage of a few months at the Piaget Cretion Studio, once she gets her Bachelor Diploma in 2015.

Eva Gaumé wins a stage at the Watch Creation Studio in Piaget once she finishes her Bachelor Diploma in 2015.
An important initiative for Piaget, a way to get closer to design schools in order to spot young talents and give them the possibility to face the professional world thanks to stages.
A wonderful experience also for me, an occasion to go back to fine jewelry and work with students on outstanding pieces. An interesting proof that creativity has no limits eventhough it is guided and that once again, fresh talents can surprise us with beautiful and innovative creations. A special thank you to Piaget for this initiative and to Head for asking me to guide one of the workshops.
