Berlino – questa settimana capitale della moda

In thesedays, Berlinfaces a beauty lift and hosts for the whole week various events, all devoted to fashion and design. On July 8th Bread & Butter exhibition was inaugurated and this year again it is held inside the old airportBerlin-Tempelhof. A very special event, out of the traditional codes of a fair. The exhibitors are all brands that influence the street-style, the right mixture between sportswear and more formal outfit in a never banal setting because the B&B “crowd” loves innovation and fun: the brands are always presented in an entertainment set up with live music, animation and a wish to astonish.

I have been to this fair many times, to Berlin(the first venue) but also to Barcelona as well. At the time, for my specific job at Swarovski ,this fair was a bit too avant-guard but observing who goes to this event and how people dress is an original source of inspiration. Who would know that back in 2005 sport accessories would become so related to our daily life?… at the time, brands like Desigual. Kocca, Baci e Abbracciwere nearly unknown but hence, they were already exhibiting there. B&B successis becoming so important that next year a new edition in Seoul will be inaugurated, this to signify that Korea and Japan are always top when it comes to trend research.

In this week, Berlin also hosts the fashion week – every day the city is rich in events, shows and exhibitions. The stores are open until late at night and welcome visitors with cocktails and gifts.

In this context , I am happy to mention RossellaUgolini exhibition, a Roman designer who for the first time shows her jewelry collection in the concept store M, within the exhibition Muse-Italian icons.

Rossella’s jewellery is all hand made, precious creations with a slight vintage feel but at the same time with a contemporary and special appeal. The exhibition is organized under the patronage of Berlin Cultural Institution and the concept store owner , Umit was able to give Rossella’s jewellery the right set up in terms of location and decoration thanks to special displays in polished metal and rough wood. Rossella also brought her working tools to testify her constant wish to mould the precious metal, creating elegant shapes and tasteful jewellery. This evening the opening cocktail will take place.
