Years of work as freelance for the jewelry line of important brands such as Ferré, Missoni and Yves St Laurent. A mentor like Gianfranco Ferré that appreciates her creations and follows her work with the kindness and perspicacity of the one that understands talent. These are, in a nut shell, the initial career steps of ValentinaBrugnatelli who, in the maturity of her professional development, recognizes her own style signature and starts to design and sell her own line on the international markets since four seasons. I have interviewed Valentina during one of my trips to Geneva where she lives and has her studio.
Her goal? Design jewelry collection of high quality and expertise thanks to the development of sculptorial and impactful shapes playing with various materials in order to create contrasts not only by colors but also tactile.
The idea to design her own collection starts because her friends ask her more and more often to produce jewelry for them. Valentina realizes that the frontier between precious jewelry and fashion is becoming smaller and smaller, it becomes therefore important for her to express what she has inside in an autonomous way, emphasizing techniques that she has learnt throughout the years and that she has made hers. Her inspiration starts from rounded organic shapes, from the study of nature, of leaves, of plants, from the research of textile fabrics where the red line are strange fruits nearly surrealist.
For Valentina it is essential that the jewelry piece tells a story and creates an emotion, a simple curiosity or a surprise. The excellent refinement of her pieces requires a technique and a quality that only few manufacturers can support.. The quality of her pieces lays in that tiny line of difference between industrial and manual and her expertise allows her to create one of a kind pieces that make her collection so different and impactful.
Today Valentina shows her lines in Paris and Milan, her collections are sold in the most exclusives point of sales around the world.
